Absolutely stunning work and he could pass for having a slight sense of human emotions. Most films use post to fix things, so that’s another difference from other films.īSG-M: One of the eye catchers in the movie is A.R.T.i., the main piece of artificial intelligence. We shot for VFX, we planned a lot of things in advance which meant that we weren’t actually fixing things in post, we were creating stuff in post. With my background we were able to do a lot of that. The rest of the movie was a lot of post-production. We didn’t want to just turn this into a science fiction movie. We wanted this to be very much like a drama. ![]() We’re both not big fans of green screen, even though my background is in visual effects and Katee has worked on projects like “Battlestar Galactica” and science fiction movies. I think we spent 6 months just talking about it. We essentially treated it like one big theater play.Īlso, I spent a lot of time with Katee Sackhoff before the shoot. One of the reasons I wanted to do that was because, first we only had 11 days to shoot so we didn’t have time to re-dress the set or move things around. It was all built for real, we had screens with graphics and everything. ![]() There was no green screen used in the main location, the mission control center. We had 10 to 11 days, which is absolutely crazy.īSG-M: How did you work around some of the challenges such a short shoot brings along? It wasn’t like your traditional movie where you have about 25 days to shoot. We shot it very much with a smart production. Could you elaborate on the shooting of the movie? Our main character Mack finds the answer by trying to solve the mystery of a cube that they have found on Mars.īSG-M: You shot the film in het United Kingdom. HD: Wow, I guess it’s best described as a mystery scifi thriller about a human being trying to find her way in a world that is mainly technology dominated and humans are mostly redundant. In light of the pre-order launch date, we caught up with the movie’s writer and director Hasraf -Haz- Dulull to talk about his new film, working with Katee Sackhoff and his love for 1980s science fiction.īSG-M: Hi Hasraff, let’s dive right in, shall we?
